SOCIAL MEDIA MANAGER

ABOUT THE ROLE

We’re looking for a Social Media & Content Manager who takes full ownership of TRIBE 99’s social media presence and content execution.

This role is responsible for planning, creating, managing, and optimizing content across Instagram and TikTok while helping drive awareness, engagement, registrations, and brand growth. The ideal candidate is equal parts strategist and executor, someone who can think creatively, move quickly, operate independently, and consistently deliver high-quality work.

This role requires a strong understanding of dance team culture, an eye for visual design.

This is not a role for someone who simply schedules posts. We are looking for a proactive self-starter who takes ownership, solves problems, and contributes ideas that help TRIBE 99 continue to lead the dance team industry.

The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and accountable. You think ahead, adapt quickly, and deliver work that meets a high standard of excellence.

This is a part-time, remote contract position with occasional travel to TRIBE 99 events.

What success looks like

After 6 months with TRIBE 99, a successful Social Media & Content Manager will:

  • Proactively deliver high-quality, on-brand content across Instagram and TikTok that reflects the energy, professionalism, and mission of TRIBE 99.

  • Grow audience engagement, reach, and community interaction across key social media platforms.

  • Increase awareness and registrations for TRIBE 99 programs, including THE DANCE COMBINE, REGIONAL COMBINES, OFFSEASON and CHOREO-CONNECT

  • Maintain organized, proactive content calendars that support business priorities, launches, sponsorship commitments, and event promotions.

  • Build strong relationships with leadership, faculty, choreographers, and event staff to identify and create compelling content opportunities.

  • Serve as a trusted voice of the brand by engaging with our community through comments, direct messages, and user-generated content.

  • Bring forward new ideas, trends, and recommendations that help TRIBE 99 stay at the forefront of the dance team industry.

  • Operate with a high level of ownership, accountability, and independence while consistently meeting deadlines and delivering measurable results.

POsition responsibilities

social media strategy & management

  • Own and execute TRIBE 99’s social media strategy across Instagram and TikTok.

  • Grow TRIBE 99’s digital presence across multiple audience segments through intentional, platform-specific content.

  • Develop and maintain content calendars that support business objectives, event launches, audience engagement, and sponsorship commitments.

  • Monitor social media performance and provide weekly analytics reporting, insights, and recommendations.

  • Evaluate content performance and optimize future content based on engagement, reach, conversion, and audience behavior.

  • Stay current on platform updates, digital trends, audience behavior, and competitor activity.

Content Creation & execution

  • Create engaging social content including reels, TikToks, graphics, stories, captions, and other digital assets.

  • Develop compelling content that brings the excitement, energy, and impact of the TRIBE 99 programs to life.

  • Create content that supports key business initiatives including:

    • THE DANCE COMBINE

    • REGIONAL COMBINES

    • OFFSEASON

    • CHOREO-CONNECT Agency

  • Coordinate with the Marketing Manager, Graphic Designer, and Video Editor to execute monthly content goals.

  • Identify when additional creative resources are needed and coordinate execution within approved scope and budget.

community engagement & relationship management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact across TRIBE 99 social media platforms.

  • Respond to comments, direct messages, tagged content, and community interactions in a timely and professional manner.

  • Build strong working relationships with leadership, faculty, choreographers, and event staff to gather content and develop impactful messaging.

  • Address customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback with professionalism and care.

  • Maintain a positive, engaging, and consistent brand presence online.

INDUSTRY LEADER & INNOVATION

  • Stay informed on trends and developments within the dance team industry.

  • Monitor social media trends and emerging opportunities to improve content performance.

  • Provide recommendations that support social media growth, partnership opportunities, sponsorship execution, and overall brand visibility.

  • Help ensure TRIBE 99 remains an industry leader in content, community engagement, and digital presence.

OWNERSHIP & ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Take full ownership of social media execution, quality, consistency, and performance.

  • Operate independently with minimal day-to-day oversight.

  • Consistently meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Collaborate effectively across departments while maintaining accountability for results.

  • Comply with all legal, insurance, health, and safety requirements

  • Reports to: Marketing Manager

COMPENSATION

This is a contract, deliverables-based role. Compensation will be structured as a monthly stipend aligned with an agreed-upon scope of work, with expectations tied to consistent execution, quality, and overall performance.

Payment is tied to agreed-upon deliverables and maintaining a high standard of content across platforms, rather than hours worked. Scope and compensation may be reviewed and adjusted over time based on performance and business needs.

Additional stipends may be provided for travel and on-site support at TRIBE 99 events, depending on role responsibilities and event needs.

QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

Industry & Social Media Experience

  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the dance team industry.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience managing B2C social media channels and executing content strategies that drive engagement, audience growth, and brand awareness.

  • Proven experience managing social media platforms, content calendars, and strategic marketing plans with measurable results.

  • Strong understanding of Instagram, TikTok, and emerging social media trends, including best practices for platform-specific content creation.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.

Position Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.

  • Must live in and be authorized to work in the United States.

  • Must obtain an independent business license and work as an independent contractor.

  • Ability to travel for TRIBE 99 events, including occasional evenings, weekends, and non-traditional hours during peak event periods.

PREFERRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).

  • Experience working within dance, athletics, sports, events, or entertainment.

  • Strong proficiency in Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Gmail, Drive).
